When you mix drinks they call for “one part” of a particular liquor…what is that part?

It’s basically an undefined unit of measure, whatever you want that unit to be. So say your recipe says “add one part vodka to two parts orange juice”, if you use 2 ounces of vodka, you’ll want to use 4 ounces of orange juice.
